Did you know the styles you wear impact your hair growth progress? If your hair seems to stay at the same length no matter what you do, you need to consider your style choices if you have not already.
You want to choose styles that will allow you to go at least a week without having to do any heavy maintenance, brushing or combing. This does not mean you have to go with an elaborate long term protective style like box braid extensions it could be something as simple as a basic hair bun.
Hair buns are an example of a protective style. Protective styles are any style in which the ends of your hair are tucked away and the maintenance of your hair is low. This method of styling reduces damage from weather conditions, daily manipulation or getting snagged on your clothing.
Other style ideas to try:
- Two strand twists
- Crown braids
- Finger coils
- Flat twists
It’s important to remain consistent in order to see results. You have to do this for the long haul, expect to see the results of this after a few months and a dramatic result after a year as on average our hair grows 1/2 inch per month.
Wear your protective style for a week, shampoo, condition, moisturize and repeat.
To remain consistent and keep you on track with your hair goals journals are helpful. Our Journal does just that and educates you about growing healthy hair.
