Natural Spotlight: Munashe

1. What is your name?
My name is Munashe Ethel Samaneka.

2. How long have you been natural?
I have been natural for 3 years and 3 months.

3.Why did you decide to go natural?
I decided to go natural because l was tired of thin, damaged relaxed hair that looked like chicken feathers soaked in water. I saw that being natural provided more versatility, styling options and kinky hair in its natural state is worthy. So l decided to go natural to send a message to the world- that black hair does grow and it doesn’t discriminate but allows room for everyone.

4. What are your favorite go to styles?
I love high puffs because they are so easy to do and faux hawks when am feeling like a Slay Queen.

5.What are your favorite products?
After being delivered from Product Junkie syndrome, I finally found that Aunt Jackie products are my favorite especially the curling cream if you want to have defined curls. The shampoo doesn’t have sulfates and doesn’t strip my hair of its natural moisture. The mask always hydrates my hair and softens my hair strands to help me have healthy, voluminous hair.

6.What is your advice to new naturals?
Trust the process. Hair doesn’t grow overnight, but following a consistent routine will help you to attain length and healthy hair. Don’t compare your length with other naturals, hair growth rate differs per individual. Lastly, rock that twa,short/long hair with boldness and be unapologetic about it!
